Design Is King
Here is something counter-intuitive until it isn’t: the better you get at IntuiFace Composer, the less often you will use it. Well, more accurately stated, the better you get, the smaller the percentage of time spent with Composer throughout a given project.
Imagine you’re an expert IntuiFace user. Will it take you more or less time to achieve a particular end? Of course, the better you get the more adventurous you get but don’t quibble. (I love that word - ‘quibble’.) You accomplish more in less time, resulting in additional capacity earlier in the project for design and content creation.
It’s a good thing too because as we say in the US: garbage in, garbage out. Take a lousy layout with a lousy storyline and lousy content, put it in IntuiFace Composer, and out you get a lousy interactive experience. Composer doesn’t conceive design, it frees design. Design is still king.
A piece of advice I give to prospective users is to consider their team’s design skills before investing in Composer. Building interactive experiences likely means working with FullHD (or better) displays in intimate - often quite literally hands-on - environments. This is not a Clip Art-conducive milieu. Sure, you can just use IntuiFace to create slightly better versions of PowerPoint slides or interactive versions of Prezi presentations, but why limit your ambitions? So make sure you are just as invested in quality design as you are giving them life with IntuiFace.
Oh, and be inspired! Tell a story. Let people choose their own adventure. Be different. Trash the linear storyline and set your content free. Check out what others have done and always look for novel ideas in different contexts. There is so much to be discovered.
